Do I still have to make credit card payments after I paid my lawyer for my chapter 7 bankruptcy?

I filed for bankruptcy about a month ago, and paid him in full last week for chapter 7. Well my bills for my loans and credit cards are due again and I’m wondering do I still have to pay them since i already paid my lawyer and filled out all the paperwork for the chapter 7. Or do I just let it ride until he does whatever it is he does?

your bk lawyer was supposed to tell you stop making payment as soon as you signed the form for filing bk

You need to continue to make payments until you get your judgment. You may very well not be let off of all of your debts, and if you don’t keep making payments, you could have a lot of penalties to pay.

Don’t second-guess the attorney you paid for….Direct this question directly to him/her rather than getting free advise from people who may give you incorrect information…however well meaning their response is….

I don’t intend to be preachy or mean….but I just had a close friend loose his home to foreclosure because he decided to seek legal advise "on the cheap" from free sources on the Internet and from friends/relatives who have "armchair" legal advise…He paid dearly for it by loosing his home. You’ve paid the attorney….make him/her earn their fee and direct your question to the expert….
