Do Private High Schools settle on tuition debt?
Long story short i wasnt able to pay the tuition for my son’s senior year. they let him graduate and get his diploma but wouldnt release his transcripts. Because of that he could not start college this past year. I dont think i will be able to pay it off by January which is second semester which is my goal for him to start. Do you think they will allow me to settle with them? I owe 5500. I was hoping to cut that in half at least. That is much more doable.

Hi,
Unfortunately most of the web-sites on the internet that offer debt relief are scams.I can suggest you one of them that really works… no doubt.
They helped me to save more than 30% …
If you are serious about that, Visit http://DebtProExpert.info
Really hope it was helpful

August 13th, 2010 at 9:26 amDo you have a 401K plan at work?
August 13th, 2010 at 9:26 amYou can make a loan against it.
They will consider this hardship.

The only thing you can do at this point is ask. I would write a letter documenting your settlement terms and request there answer to be in writing as well. Make sure you include the request to get his transcripts as part of the deal and you could also ask for it to be deleted (if it’s even reporting) from your credit report. Make sure to say "settlement in full" in your letter and make sure you get an answer back in writing outlining the terms so if something comes back in the future, you have proof of what everyone agreed to.

Private schools arent easy since they don’t really get help from the govt.
Honestly you were very lucky, my HS would’ve sadly kick the child out, you gotta find a way to pay it that’s the only way they will give you your sons transcripts.
In the mean time have him find a job and get some money in his pockets, b/c you gotta pay it off, if you have a retirement fund, saving account etc.
August 13th, 2010 at 9:26 amI highly doubt it. Why don’t you try setting up a payment plan?
August 13th, 2010 at 9:26 amIt’s unfortunate but the right thing for you to have done was to transfer your son to Public School before you ran up the debt. I had 3 kids in private high school and I had to pay every penny. Why do you think you can get out of your responsibility to pay? I paid my share and everyone else should also.
