Has anyone used a debt settlement group?
I am looking into settling my debt and know there are many fraudulent companies out there. So I would like to know if anyone has used a debt settlement company, if so, which company did you use, how long have you been paying off your debt with that company, and how is your experience overall with them. What were their fees for settling your debt? Any feedback would be GREAT!

you can find out which companies that others have had a hard time with and thus which ones might be good to avoid)

It is my understanding that you can do the negotiating yourself.
so why pay them what you can do for free.
Do a bit more research online
if you are still convinced that you can’t do it yourself, be sure to get any contracts in writing before you make any payments or sign anything
Debt settlement is not for the faint hearted. I know of a friend who used Freedom Debt Relief. She was in the program for just about 2 years. She did get a lot of calls from her creditors who told her outright that they would not work with Freedom Debt Relief, but in the end each one of them eventually settled their accounts at a substantial discount.
I have looked for more information about this company and turns out, it has a great reputation with the better business bureau as well. You can either visit them at http://www.freedomdebtrelief.com or give them a call directly at 1-800-544-7211 for a free consultation.
In the end, there is no substitution for in depth research. You will have to research extensively on any company that you go with.
