Has anyone used Halo Debt Solutions for debt settlement?
I have done a lot of research on debt settlement vs trying to settle debts on my own. Understanding my own strengths and weaknesses, I think I would benefit using a professional company. Now, I just have to figure out which one to go with. I’m interested in Halo, as you get to keep your money in your own savings account, rather than an escrow, and you pay the creditor directly when a settlement is reached. I’d just like to feel better assured that they won’t rip me off! Does anyone have experience with them?

I also am researching Debt Settlement, but am not impressed with Halo. First off they made everything about settlement seem so peachy! Settlement (based on research) has a dramatic impact on your credit score that takes years to recover from. Also I am not sure how they will collect there fees. If I pay a majority of the fees up front and then have to manage my own savings account and creditor calls, then what service are they offering? Settling the debts seems like the easy part of the process to me. All of the collateral nonsense concerns me more; such as summons, creditor calls and the general drama the goes along with collections. My experience is that any company promising me the world on the front end will not deliver the service they promise on the back end. Especially if all or a large portion of the fee is paid up front. Based on my research; the settlement company that offers the best back end service is the one consumers should consider, but I am not sure about how to go about that. Maybe someone has some ideas?
August 13th, 2010 at 10:02 amself help may B best. this si due 2 all the fees they charge above what u already O. once u start paying, they seem 2 always keep ppl in debt. additionally, there’s absolutely NO guarantee that yer credit’ll B repaired OR that there’ll B proof U even pd a dime. w/ these comps, u just never know. whatever u decide, just remember, they don’t work 4 free!!!
