I am 25 with 25,000 in medical debt. Should I file bankruptcy?
I am married. My husband and I are both college students. We don’t have any credit card debt, but we only make 18,000 a year. He still has 3 years and I still have 4. His credit is just now getting good. All of this is on mine. We have gotten all of our other creditors paid off, but we feel like we have no choice.

Most bankruptcy attorneys offer one free appointment to evaluate your financial situation and advise you regarding solutions. Take advantage of a free appointment to get some real legal advice from a real bankruptcy attorney, not from anonymous strangers on the Internet who may or may not be who they say they are, or actually have accurate or relevant info.
If you just recently paid off your other creditors (i.e., within the last 90 days) be sure to tell your bankruptcy attorney since that could affect your bankruptcy.
Medical debt is the number one catalyst for debtors who file bankruptcy, with well over 50% of all bankruptcies involving medical debts of some sort.

August 11th, 2010 at 2:20 amI have found them quite willing to accept what I can pay as long as i pay.
If I try to put off paying for a long period they contact me and if I start paying they get off my back.
Other creditors will charge interest until i pay all of it off but the medical bills i have paid off have never done that.
Since you are so young try to pay what you can rather than throw away your credit rating by filing for bankruptcy.
i too had a lot of medical bills that is all i included in my bk
