If you can’t find a job, filing bankruptcy isn’t going to help you live on your own. Sure, it might help you get rid of your minimum payments, but the problem is that you don’t have a job that pays well enough to live – you will be right back into the same cycle of borrowing so that you can spend more than you make.

And for the person who suggested that you go out and buy expensive things on your cards, and then file for BK – that is considered to be bankruptcy fraud, and it’s a felony.

As long as there is a ton of debt and if your credit is already screwed up, then yes take the plunge and go ahead and file for bankruptcy, as that is the best option right now. I would even buy a few expensive things on my credit card and then file. In for a penny, in for a pound as the old saying goes. Good luck.

Go to a lawyer and see if they can arrange a work out first. It all depends on your circumstances and how much debt you have.
    Good luck..
