If a bankruptcy is concluded/discharged/done, can u sue after the company that misled u?
recently a client of LAWL, the company went bnkrupt, leaving me penniless from what I invested into the program. A class action suit has been filed in my state, I want to pursue, but Im not sure if you can sue after I did a bankruptcy myself. (SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE) at the time when I filed I didn’t have this problem, its after the bankruptcy. What will happen?
You are an unsecured creditor [an investor] of LAWL. If there is enough after paying secured creditors and priority creditors, you may possibly be paid a percentage of the amount of your claim.
If you read a copy of the Bankruptcy Petition filed by the company, you should be able to get an idea whether there will be enough to pay unsecured creditors and equity investors. You can visit the Clerk of the United States Bankruptcy Court to review the claim form, or you can arrange to have a copy of the petition sent to you for a reasonable fee.
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:13 pmI don’t think that matters, you can get in on the class action suit, also i would try filling on my own, I don’t think bankruptcy has anything to do with it, after all you are not trying to get a loan or file for credit, If I were you i would go for it.
