Need to find a good financial advisor related to my filing of chapter 13 bankruptcy?

Here is my current situation, I have the trustee meeting coming up very soon and I need to talk to a financial expert to go over my finances and to finally decide on what to do.

Currently I have filed chapter 13 but the more I think of it I feel like chapter 7 would be the best option but I need help!

any recommendations?? thoughts?

The trustee is now your financial adviser and will control pretty much how and where your money goes. Any bankruptcy will stay on your credit report for 7 years. So it will be like 3 to 4 before you can get and credit cards again.

i filed for chapter 7. it depends on your debt and what you are trying to do with it (in regards to what chapter to file)
usually with chapter 13, you pay all your debtors back. with chapter 7, you are wiped clean of the debt that has been discharged.

it could ruin your credit-but mine was already terrible so it didnt matter to me.

you should talk to a lawyer and they would be able to answer the rest of your questions. My first consultation was free.

as far as finding a finanical advisor-im not sure. try looking in the yellow pages, ask co-workers or friends for recommendations, or just go on the internet.
