Obama claims if the health care scam is not voted in the country will go bankrupt ?
But America’s strong economy has so much money we can shell out 100 BILLION on a Global warming scam to poor countries to help them with the Global warming scam .Which you would have to be a complete Moron to think any of that money will actually go towards Global warming when there government is just as corrupt as the Obama administration! Obama ,Pelosi and Reid are the reason America is going Bankrupt <FACT Putting the blame on Bush is not only wrong it shows how corrupt this administration is !
Elwood You might want to dig up a little more information .The numbers you post are as accurate as Obama stating how he saved jobs .And if Europe’s health care is so good why is it they come to the USA in droves for operations! And the money saved by the Health care scam? You can’t tell me you actually fell for that! As it is stated it alone would bankrupt America. The Dem’s push this as a bill that will take care of all Americans health care . But the Fact is this bill has little to do with health care .Just like the stimuli’s scam that they said if we didn’t get we would lose 5oo million jobs << (Quote from Pelosi Democrat house speaker) she must have been including illegals and unborn babies that have jobs. The stimulus scam was voted in and how many jobs did it create??? SCAM!!!!
ONAN I just didnt Make up 100 billion figure .You must watch Liberal news Chanels that hide the fact Hillary just Pledged 100 BILLION to its cause . So who looks like they are telling the truth now!If you watch Liberal news then you shouldent post a opinion
Thel Typical Liberal You can spin the truth all you want But what I said is FACT and can easily be backed up .This is something liberals can not do which is why they have to resort in trying to blame Bush on toss in a race card .I give facts .You base your answer on fiction then call me brainless . Get a education!
I do not know about the country going bankrupt but I know many families will do to the utter greed of the health care insurance companies. Rates will do nothing but continue going up and up and less and less people will be able to afford it. Right now the top question doctors and hospitals ask is this; do you have insurance. Things will not get better only much worse.*
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmHe also said that stimulus needed to be passed IMMEDIATELY so that unemployment wont go over 8%.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmWho even listens to this guy anymore?
Our status quo is expensive. According to David Frum (special assistant to president Bush, 2001-2), between 2000 and 2007, the cost of the average insurance policy for a family of four doubled. See http://www.newmajority.com/the-bush-economic-record-blame-healthcare In this question I show a back-of-the envelope estimate of the cost of maintaining the status quo http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AirVVzkXd37O1CEFU8feEo3ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090916131445AAO0ltM&show=7#profile-info-S4549Rqwaa We can’t afford to maintain the status quo, but if we did it would cost $8 to $9 trillion spread over the next 10 years.
Here are estimates of the savings that will accrue when more people get preventative care: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a09dX4NiJ714
And the fact is that in the USA we pay nearly *twice* what Europeans pay for health care, and we have both higher infant mortality and lower life expectancy than most European countries. In the table below, im = infant mortality and L = life expectancy. See http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0004393.html for mortality and life; see http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/46/33/38979719.pdf for costs.
United States — im= 6.4, L= 78.0, cost $7290, 16.0% of GDP
Canada ——— im= 4.6, L= 80.3, cost $3895, 10.1% of GDP
Austria ——– im= 4.5, L= 79.2, cost $3763, 10.1% of GDP
United Kingdom — im= 5.0, L= 78.7, cost $3895, 8.4% of GDP
Denmark —— im= 4.5, L= 78.0, cost $3362, 10.4% of GDP
Finland ——- im= 3.5, L= 78.7, cost $2840, 8.2% of GDP
France ——– im= 4.2, L= 79.9, cost $4763, 11.0% of GDP
Germany —— im= 4.1, L= 79.0, cost $3527, 10.4% of GDP
Greece ——– im= 5.3, L= 79.4, cost $2727, 9.6% of GDP
Italy ———– im= 5.7, L= 79.9, cost $2686, 8.7% of GDP
Norway ——- im= 3.6, L= 79.7, cost $4763, 8.9% of GDP
Spain ——— im= 4.3, L= 79.8, cost $2671, 8.5% of GDP
Sweden ——- im= 2.8, L= 80.6, cost $3323, 9.1% of GDP
Switzerland — im= 4.3, L= 80.6, cost $4417, 10.8% of GDP
USA has 36 days longer life expectancy than these two countries!
Ireland ——- im= 5.2, L= 77.9, cost $3424, 7.6% of GDP
Portugal —– im= 4.9, L= 77.9, cost $2150, 9.9% of GDP
Some folks blame our high costs on malpractice insurance. But the numbers don’t support that. Including legal fees, insurance costs, and payouts, the cost of the suits comes to less than 1.5 percent of health-care spending. See http://www.insurance-reform.org/pr/AIRhealthcosts.pdf and http://makethemaccountable.com/myth/RisingCostOfMedicalMalpracticeInsurance.htm Along those lines, it’s interesting to note that a number of states already have "caps and tort reform" yet the insurance companies have not lowered the cost of malpractice insurance in those states. Finally, most malpractice cases occur in state court where the Federal government has no juristiction. See http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/09/debating-the-cap.html#more
News flash: we already have rationed health care. Right now it’s rationed by insurance companies. And they are skimming off 20% administrative overhead.
News flash: we already pay for heath care for the poor. Hospital emergency rooms are required by law to treat anyone who comes through their door. This loses money (ER care is among the most expensive) so the hospitals charge all the other patients to pay for the indigent ER patients. This is the status quo that needs to change.

———– update ———–
And you might just want to dig up a single figure about health care!! You haven’t provided a single figure, much less provided a link to back it up. You claim it’s easy to back up; why then haven’t you done so? You claim lots of Europeans come to the US for operations but you provide zero evidence, and you fail to consider that there might also be traffic in the opposite direction. I stand by my figures and challenge you to provide estimates and links to support your extravagant claims. Otherwise it’s just so much empty rhetoric.
BTW, for your perusal: an article by an American libertarian and editor of Reason Magazine on his personal experience with the superiority of French health care: http://reason.com/archives/2009/12/07/why-prefer-french-health-care

… 24 hours later … still waiting for that "easily backed up" demonstration … or any sort of supporting evidence at all … yawn …

Notwithstanding the BDS syncophants, Nothing Obama says can be trusted anymore, even by liberals. Only a fool would think so. Bush never threatened a senator to get his or her vote.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmRetiring Baby Boomers + Medicare = Bankrupt Nation.
Haven’t you been listening to Republicans for the last couple decades? Compared to the projected costs of Medicare, $100 billion is chump change.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmIt shows what an idiot B Hussein Obama is and yet the left wing wackos still worship him while he is destroying the USA.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmCheer up, the damage has already been done, and no amount of complaining is going to change that.
The incompetent village idiot, with the help of the PNAC has left behind such a perfect poison pill that it will take decades to recover.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmWE ALREADY ARE, THANKS TO THE FASCIST 0BAMA ! One of two things is going on, either he is a fkn retard or he thinks we are !!!!!!!!!!!!
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmTwo things:
1) "Current estimates put U.S. health care spending at approximately 16% of GDP, second only to East Timor (Timor-Leste) among all United Nations member nations" (meaning that we are spending too much on health care)
and 2) "According to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, the United States is the "only wealthy, industrialized nation that does not ensure that all citizens have coverage" (i.e. some kind of insurance)."
Now this health care reform may not actually cut costs, so to imply that it will help our overspending on health care may not be entirely correct, but two things need to happen without question – we need to get our health care costs down, and we need to insure everybody, whether this is the bill to do it, or not.
When America is behind the rest of the civilized world, it doesn’t mean we’re better. It just means we’re behind.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmlol but he already did that to our country….can you say 3 times our debt in one year
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmThe reform that most Americans have been begging for for decades is NOT a scam. Since you hate democracy so much, you should move to a dictatorship where you’ll be much happier.
As everyone who has a BRAIN realizes, when the cost of something doubles every few years, failing to contain its cost will eventually bankrupt any system.
Global climate change is SCIENCE, not a scam. 100 billion is nothing compared to sky-rocketing health care costs.
The poor countries didn’t create the problem, but they are suffering the most from it. People who believe in FAIRNESS understand the need to help them. Those of us who do NOT find joy in human suffering WANT to help.
It’s a lie that all poor countries have corrupt governments.
It’s a lie that the Obama administration is corrupt, OR that it and the current Congress are responsible for our debt, most of which was first doubled by Reagan, and later doubled by Dubya.
Only brainless people think that putting the word ‘fact’ after a lie makes it true.
Only brainless people have a problem with holding someone responsible for what they did.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmWhy are you not mad? Many people in their 50’s and early 60’s have enough in savings to retire but keep working for the sole purpose to have health insurance.
Think of the number of jobs that would open up for younger people if those older people could fully retire due to a national health insurance program.
I think that last weeks plan to lower medicare to age 55 was a great idea. It would have also opened up badly needed jobs.
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmhaha seriously!!!!!

June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmIt is just the opposite!
June 27th, 2010 at 9:24 pmIf this bill passes this country will be even broker than it is now.
They keep printing money that has no value and then try to say that this needs to pass or we will become bankrupt.
BAH
