Chapter 7 Bankruptcy dismissed all my debts, then why is there still a judgement lien on my house from one of my creditors whose debt was dismissed in my bankruptcy, the lien was put on before my bankruptcy, should it still be there, and how can I remove it before my settlement date of my sale on 12/28/2007?
When filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy as an individual can I use my son towards my household size if I have joint custody with my ex-husband.
I would like to know if anyone knows if I can keep my car in Chapter 7 bankruptcy? I know it is not worth what I owe on it. My problem is that my credit is shoot, due to helping out family and my husband lost his job which put us in MAJOR debit. We qualify for Chapter 7 but this is the only car my family has. I don’t want to lose it. Can someone please explain to me how this will work?
I filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy and I own a home that is worth less that what is owed but I wanted to keep it and was thinking that I could rent it out to a family as I am single and I could rent a studio apt for myself giving me enough to live on until I can get a better job hopefully in the future. I have to file bankruptcy but was hoping in the future I would have a job that pays enough for me to make the mortage payments on the house and still have enough money left over for living expenses, but right now I dont. Is it possbile to rent out the house and still declalre bankruptcy?

My mother recently inherited a sum of money from a family member that passed away this past year. She has told me that despite the inheritance she and my father will have to file for bankruptcy. She has no income and my father only get’s Social Security Disability checks in the amount of 00 a month which they currently use to keep up their home and vehicles. I decided a few months ago to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I hired an attorney in late December and informed all my creditors. I have only heard from one on and off since then.
I have had a temp job since mid-December, but I think it ends in the next week or two. I have enough now to do the bankruptcy…however, what if I just never did it? I have no open credit cards nor needs for credit. Will the agencies start calling me again eventually?

I am going to file chapter 7 bankruptcy and I have a joint credit card between myself and my son. What I would like to do is keep the credit card so I still have something for emergencies after I file bankruptcy. Do I have to list the joint account when filing bankruptcy? Because I would like to keep it open and keep making the payments as usual, and if I did list it could that effect my sons credit, even if he makes the payments, since he is joint on the account,?
I recently declared Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I re-affirmed my Auto Lease. Will this help to re-build my credit score? I’ve heard the "get a credit card and use some and pay-off or keep 10%" idea. But can the lease have the same effect without having to open another credit card agian? I am looking for the easiest way to build credit without a credit card. But if i have to, i guess i will.
My court hearing for meeting the creditors/trustee is on July 10th for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Florida. I was wonder since my household only have 1 car. I really need to have a extra car for me to use for work instead of using my spouse car. I’m planning to pay cash for a cheap used car but I need to know will it be a problem once after I do my court hearing?

On Thursday I’m due to see a lawyer about filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. The problem is I need to try and get another car this month. Should I file bankruptcy before or after I get another car. My current car which I have a debt consolidation loan on is sitting at a mechanic collecting dust because I can’t afford to get it fixed and the debt folks wont release my title even though its a useless car. I can easily get another car with low monthly payments but will that look bad if I file bankruptcy?
We had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy because of high medical bills from myself sliding off the roof which was supposed to be covered for 30 years.We reaffirmed the mortgage debt and are still paying it but the house has become a health hazard. Can anyone please help?
This sounds a little tricky but it’s not really. I am planning on filing bankruptcy in November as a result of a writ put on my bank account due to a credit card that wasn’t paid off (and I was never served the papers for).
I currently live in PA but will be moving to NJ in October which is in my favor pertaining to the BK I learned. Also I am adopting my cousin’s child who will be coming to live with me in Nov. I was told to wait until he is here to file because that will also help my case. My main concern is that I don’t want it to go to a chap 13 BK.

Someone PLEASE help me to figure this out. I have been unemployed for most of the past 2 years. I have recently begun a job and am making barely enough to live off of and have moved in with a friend to save expenses. I have had perfect credit up until now… just 2 months ago I missed my first payments on my 2 credit cards and haven’t made a payment since. At first I told the CC company that I wasn’t able to make a payment for a few months, but now I see that I don’t have enough money to make a payment at all and don’t see myself having that kind of money again in my current job. I see no higher paying prospect either, and trust me I have been applying for the past 2 years. My debt with the 2 cards is 20K each, with a total of 40K in cc debt. I also have 14K in student loans on top of that, which I just caught up payment on. These debts are all from school expenses, I thought I’d be able to pay them off shortly after school but but I was not able to complete the program. My question is this… if I just don’t pay my cc debt, have no house or property, and my car is a clunker, have no dependents, what will eventually happen? I already am being called 13 hours a day by collectors and it’s only been 2 months. Would I be better off just filing bankruptcy? My income 3 years ago was 43K, and now over the last 2 years it has been a total of 15 K (mostly earned the second half of 2008). If my credit is going to be ruined anyway, why not just file chapter 7 bankruptcy if I have no way of paying it off over the next decade? Bankruptcy seems my only option, but I know I feel desperate now and hate to do something so drastic if theres a better way… I just need to know what the better way is and what to expect. So I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2009 and I just did my taxes and I have a refund of over 00 but I think I remember hearing/ reading that they take your refund and give it to your creditors. Is that true? We had a really poor year in 2009 so most of it is earned income/ child credits and only about 0 is overpayment of what we should have paid.
a relative wants to rent an apartment but filed chapter 7 bankruptcy a month ago and probably wont be discharged for another 4 months. Will they be able to rent an apartment even with the discharge and a good paying job???

I know that if you qualify for chapter 7 bankruptcy, you’re allowed to keep some assests to live on etc, and that it varies frome state to state – does anyone know the value at/below which the bankruptcy judge will allow you to keep your car in MA?

This person smashed up my car from negligent driving and had no car insurance. I received a judgment and had his license suspended all of this happened in Illinois. They are now in Texas and can’t get a legit driver’s license due to the suspension/judgment. They now say they are going to file chapter 7 in Texas to overcome this situation.
