First off, I’m Army. me and my wife of (sadly) 3 months have it it rough. She’s made things too difficult. but that is besides the point.

My wife is possibly threatening abortion. Assuming she is gonna go through with it, I want to know what I can do to stop it. I know the states favor heavily with women in abortion matters. Which, I think is wrong, and there is nothing you can say that will change that opinion. As the father (and still married) I should have just as much say in this decison. Its not even like we met and she got knocked up. Don’t feed me this "its her body", or "she’s the one that’s got to carry it"…. That’s the dumbest excuse. I will go bankrupt fighting this, but i would like to know some avenues of apporach to fight this, and possibly the best research material so i can study up on what I should and should not do.

also, if you have any recommendations on how to fight for primary custody as a father, that would be nice too, but the above is my main concern. I won’t even go after her for child support. All she needs to do is give the baby up to me. That’s all i want.

i have about 15,000 in debt. on of which was a 2,000 credit card now uo to 11,000!!!!! i just don’t know what to do! i already got my tax refunds and it’s gone to things we needed. so i can’t do a settlement. my b-f and i make about 55,000 a year, but trust me allot of his income is gone to child support plus we have two kids. please someone with a knowledge of this answer……..

Beside the fact of me being told I have 3 days before I’m being kicked out the house, the b1tch that’s kicking me out is forcing me down the military route, my original plans were going to Bethune but I literally have the most uncooperative parents ever,the tuition is high, and that’s school is VERY family oriented.my parents would rather smoke w33d or watch "All My Children" before it gets canceled and judge me like I was the reason they are miserable.Brief financial and current situation. . . Father is ex military,literally f***ing psychotic(surprised one of us aren’t dead in all honestly) does get a retirement check but most of that is garnished from child support (bastard child). Hasn’t had a job in 2 years and they year before that he literally had 4 different jobs(quit them) and the job he has now is a entry level job scanning papers into Xerox machine part time (really hard huh?) and wait this is the best part . . . my mom helped him get that job . . . working in the same building. My mom’s job is fairly decent, credentialing specialist, nothing close to where she should be getting for her degree, but that’s another discussion.. They have been in Bankruptcy twice and have been kicked out-TWICE!!! (and they still have the nerve to criticize me on my trivial choices)Meanwhile I scored a 74 on my asvab (i know its average) and I been going back and forth to the recruiters office discussing certain things about the Navy and what they can do for ME. They can’t offer much but I’m very limited on choice so the Navy is where I’m stuck on going. The big discussion that me and the recruiter(s) have is ultimately is that , is this my choice on going or not.I truly don’t want to go to the military,I’ve been told I have a good foundation for it but I shouldn’t go because I just don’t want to go and I have no drive whatsoever to go in enlisted. They tell me I will be miserable. I’m going to be kicked out and soon anyways but whats the point of going into the military if i would probably get an ELS (if you don’t know what that is, you shouldn’t even think of giving me an answer anyways) But if I don’t go, I’m going to be homeless soon (that’s is happening regardless)

We have 3 kids, no property or debt that is being divided. The kids live with him and we have agreed we want joint custody with him being the primary. He has a lawyer, I can’t afford one. If we agree on all of this including an amount for child support do we have to go to court? If it gets written up and notarized is that all we need to do? We’re in Missouri btw

I would like to know rather bankruptcy would be a good option for me.

I have a 10,000 car loan. Several other loans that equal about 10 thousand. I have a HUGE credit sheet that equals about 30 thousand in medical bills and other. The bank is taking me to court over the loans.

I have not had a job since Dec and just found a job but for 10/hr and will not start for a while. I am a single mother with no child support and live with my grandmother (who is really bad shape and needs tons of help money wise).

I don’t get child support because the father is serving a five year term in jail for abuse and drugs.

My father refuses to give any care for his mother. He has not even spoken to her in six monthe. At one time he was helping her, but he took all of her money (60,000) and ran for the hills.

After I file, I plan on going to school full time and drop down to a part time job. And pay for school through the FASFA program and out of my own pocket. I refuse to have to get over my head ever again.

I am in over my head in debt. Every month I have to "borrow" at least 0 extra dollars just to pay my bills. My husband and I recently separated. He left me to take care of all the bills. Currently I am a 4th grade teacher and make about ,000 a year. That would be a great salary if I didn’t have to pay every cent to a bill collector.

Every debt is in my name (including a car that I got in my name for him, that he now refuses to pay for because someone else put another car in their name for him–his sister). I already had a car of my own. Now I have two. He didn’t have a job at the time, so most of the major stuff that we have gotten was in my name when we got married.

I am going through a divorce and my ex isn’t paying ANYTHING (rent, car, etc) hes already gotten evicted and I am working on getting my name off that. me and my wife split up 2 months ago. we filed bankruptcy 1 1/2 yrs ago. we put the 2005 van into the bankruptcy. she took the van, but the vans loan is in my mom and my name, not hers. i have the registration on it and am currently paying the insurance on the van. i have the full 146 a week taken out of my check. what rights do i have? she doesn’t want to file for a divorce right now and i have no money to. but i’m afraid if she wrecks it, i’m screwed because the insurance is in my name. we still owe 17000 on it. if she wants the van fine, but i’m tired of paying for that van and the rest of the bankruptcy by myself, especially when she wants 191 a week for child support. do i have right to take the van back, or take the registration and insurance off the van. i’ve waited for her to pay something, but have got nothing. it seems like a big burden that i don’t need. can we sign off the loan and give it to her directly, that way she can have the title and put her own registration on it.

My husband owes his wife money out of old debt they settled in their divorce papers. He has been out of work for a while, I have even been paying child support just so he doesn’t fall behind. Meanhwile, she decided we are hiding something so she is now threatening to go after the house.

Just completed a short sale on my house after missing 6 payments (ex quit paying child support). I tried just before short sale went through to get a small loan and was turned down due to missed payments. I’ve since been notified that the mortgage company reported to all 3 credit bureaus that the debt was "settled". I got into financial trouble after my divorce when my ex wasn’t paying child support. I am still so far behind there is no way I can ever catch up! I want to file bankruptcy, but when I called a bankruptcy attorney he said it will cost me 00 up front to file. If I could afford to pay that, I wouldn’t need to file bankruptcy! Help! After trying to find ways to be able to take care of our responsibilities we have come to the last resort and that is to file bankruptcy. We don’t own any homes or any real property. what I am curious about is which is better chapter 7 or chapter 13. We want to be able to start saving a soon as it done and when feesible start rebuilding credit. Our credit card debt is only 00 which is a lot, but it could be worse. We just had two bad years with this one being the worse. I am looking for advice on the best way to go between the two. Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 and why.

As I stated it has been a bad 2 years, actually almost 3 years. I got real sick and had to leave my job and am now on disability. My husband took on a second job a year ago. He pays child support. Between the two of us we have 5 kids between the ages of 9-16. We have two vehicles, which one is in the shop. We also are surrendering this vehicle.
We have an attorney and he is recommending chapter 13. I (we) have a lot of medical bills. After I had to leave my job I couldn’t afford the cobra payments for continued health insurance. To maintain health insurance with my husbands employment (state worker) would have cost more than the cobra payments.
My ex- husband filed bankruptcy and I did not know that anything he had when we were together, came back to me.
I never thought I would get sick and have to quit work. I was not prepared.

in the divorce decree it states that I am responsible for all debts incurred by my former business and that she is relieved from them. I sold her the truck because I didn’t need it in jail and I owed her money as well for paying my child support current last year. Here’s where it gets confusing, i am in jail in Texas and looking at a felony revocation where I would be spending 2-10 years in prison. Alabama and Mississippi is where most of my debts are and one has even filed small claims three days after I left alabama. I need to act on this fast. Can I do this myself with the correct forms? Which state should I file in? Texas allows you to keep property in which you need for work. But all the divorce decree said that I would be allowed my personal property only and it didn’t stipulate what was personal property. my ex seems to think its just my clothes.
