Should I file Bankruptcy? I own nothing.?

I have several thousands of dollars in debt, and I feel that it would probably take me 2 or more years to repay if I move back with my parents and don’t ever go out. The only items that I actually own is my phone, computer, and clothes. So, would bankruptcy be the way to go?

My only income is my unemployment,…
I also own a car that’s paid off.

How to help a depressed relative in significant debt?

I have a relative ("Lou") who is in debt. Lou is in his early 30’s. The debt is more than K. Lou seems depressed, and I believe spends (restaurants, clothes, etc) as an escape from real life. In the past, the family has repaid Lou’s debt without conditions, but every time more debt appears later. This time, the family offered to refinance the debt only if Lou hews to a budget. Lou is resisting the budget since it imposes controls that any adult might resist. Plus, Lou is worried about his life being in too much flux and not being able to guarantee he can live within the budget. The only alternative is for Lou to default on his debt. We don’t really want that because of the long-term implications of bankruptcy. We also worry about pushing Lou "over the edge". There is no drinking or drug problem. There may be a gambling problem. What do we do? Lou refuses to go to counseling.

Should I file bankruptcy or debt consilidation?

Hi, My hubby and I are struggling to pay our bills and we are 27,000.00 in unsecure debt. I am thinking about filing bankruptcy because Ive had these credit card balances for over 5 years and nothing is getting paid down and as a matter of fact the balances are getting higher. I am struggling so much and all I do is eat ham sandiwches everyday for lunch and take hammy down clothes and live in a old trailer. I’ve reached the end of my ropes today when I had to go to a mechanic shop they wouldn’t let me leave b/c my tires were splitting apart and I had to end up owing the mechanic shop for tires. So which should I do, my credit is already screwed so I’m thinking bankruptcy

Discharging a debt during bankruptcy?

My wife is filing for bankruptcy and one of our creditor’s is Kay Jewelers. We bought our wedding rings through them back in 2008. We received a letter in the mail today saying that they may have a non-dischargeability cause of action against us if we don’t turn our rings over, which we really don’t want to have to do. I know that it seems like the sensible thing to do and we can’t really afford to pay off the debt. Is there any alternative to giving the rings back or paying the debt?
Thank you all for answering so quickly. First, I am not on any of her loans/ debts so it wasn’t really advisable that I file as well. The only thing I have in my name is my student loans and our car (which the person who helped us file our paperwork said we wouldn’t need to worry about since the title is in my name). With that said, while we were filling out our paperwork, there is a section that you get to put items that you would like to have exempt from the bankruptcy i.e. jewelry, clothes, electonics… and you’re allowed up to a certain value for each item. Our rings fell way below the limit so we were told that we could keep them. Lastly, and unfortunately, it was a secured loan so they are saying that the rings are collateral and they have the right to either take them back or have us pay it back.

How do I get new clothes for the new me with out making my parents go bankrupt?!?

Lets say i am 13 and moving on to the next grade in school. last year i got the hang of choosing good clothes for my age a little to late in the year. This year I already know what’s "in". I just don’t know how to get it. I am tan with curly (REALLY curly) /puffly thin hair. Personally, I think I look best in bright yellow or red.

PLZPLZPLZ answer. But keep in mind that my school dress code doesn’t allow:
- anything less than a short-sleeve
- or pants higher than my finger tips

I prefer jeans rather than skirts and i don’t have a very big chest. Oh, and can anyone tell me some good color combinations?

*feel free too include pics*
THANX!

What type of cash flow can I expect to get for my family of 5 if I file CH 13 bankruptcy?

I have a family of 5 and I am worried that if I file for Bankruptcy, I won’t have any cash to spend for clothes and other general expenses like school fees and the occasional rec sport. How does a trustee determine what you can live off of in bankruptcy?
Our family makes just over 6 figures. Our home is adjusting and this is one option to get back in good standing.

Debt solutions, what should I do?

Like most Americans, I’m in debt. I’m a student with a part-time job and I’ve sunk into some pretty nasty debts. I have medical bills to take care of, as well as other other stuff. I’ve read a bit about debt consolidation and lots of sources say it’s pretty much a scam (you’re not eliminating the debt, you’re just moving it). I don’t think bankruptcy is a good idea.

What can a college student (undergrad) do to eliminate 00+ debt? Are there loan programs that just give you money and a few years before you have to start repaying it? Are there other alternatives?
I’ve decreased personal expenses to pretty much nonexistant. I don’t really buy clothes and food and such and all of my expenses are either medical bills, textbooks, or a monthly laptop payment.

How can I make profit via Internet?

Hi. I really want to know how can I make money out of the Internet…

I currently live in Mexico, I have about 5000 dollars to open up a little business. I considered opening an offline store, but I don’t really think I can do anything with the money I have, plus, I have no idea where to start a business, etc.
The major problem lies in that I’m actually really scared of opening a new business because my dad has gone bankrupt several times and that is something that may psychologically affect me very much as I don’t even have a business going on and I’m already afraid of going bankrupt… This is why I plan on opening an online store as it takes less money to open up and it takes relatively less loss if I go bankrupt.

I am planning to start little, along with my sister… We plan on these options:
Sell clothes.
Sell beauty care products.
Sell handmade objects.
Sell household appliances.

Which ones work best… I would like other options than what we plan on so we can broaden our ideas, plus for me this is very serious and I really need a regular profit out of it, not just like a hobby.

I’ve seen people make serious money out of the Internet, I wonder how they do. Any sincere opinions will be greatly appreciated… Thank you in advance.

Will i get my income taxes back after filling chapter 7 bankrupcy?

I am a single parent filing a chapter 7 bankrupcy. I always get back about 3400 a year, because of child tax credit and earned income credit. Now i am scarred that i won’t be allowed to receive my taxes next year. I depend on this money for the year to help with food and clothes, car repairs. Has anyone filled a chapter 7 as a single parent, with no properties or other assets? And had their taxes for the next year taken?

How do I claim for settlement on credit card debt based on verbal agreement?

Is a long story but to cut it short, I can’t get back my money now. I was being setup as boyfriend and gal friend. The girl pretending to be my gal friend told me that she was in financial difficulty and ask me to help her out by swaping my credit card in advance first after which she will pay me back at end of month. She bought herself clothes, shoes & bags which amounted to RM4.5K. It is only through trust and verbal agreement i agreed to help her out. Later on I found out that she was cheating me of my money. Right now, she refuses to settle her debt and even threaten to file sexual harassment report against me not unless I cancel off her debt. I thought of taking this to small claims court but then I was told that if I do not have any written agreement to support my claim it will be of no use. I do have recording evidence but was told it cannot be accepted as an evidence. Has anyone come across this situation before? I do not know what to do now. *sigh* Any advise is welcomed.
The person who passed me the small claims forms told me that recording evidence cannot be accepted. I will check further on the law in my country.
My legal advisor told me that audio or video cannot be used as evidence in court as the contents can be manipulated. :(

Do you lose or keep your primary residence if you file bankruptcy?

I’ve been looking at an informational site and couldn’t find anything that would answer this question plain and simple. For Chapter 7 it said you could keep clothes and furnishings and something else but it wasn’t house. It said everything of value had to be liquidated to pay the debts. For Chapter 13 it said something about mortgage, but it made it sound like it had to be paid off in 5 years, which I know for what my sister owes on her house, she’d only come close if they weren’t charging any interest during that time. If worse comes to worse for my sister and she ends up with her cars going into repossession and house into foreclosure, and she files bankruptcy, can she keep her house and one car, or would she have to sell them and start from rock bottom all over again?

can I file bankruptcy in jail and does it matter if i sold my ‘92 truck to my ex-wife 6 days after divorce?

in the divorce decree it states that I am responsible for all debts incurred by my former business and that she is relieved from them. I sold her the truck because I didn’t need it in jail and I owed her money as well for paying my child support current last year. Here’s where it gets confusing, i am in jail in Texas and looking at a felony revocation where I would be spending 2-10 years in prison. Alabama and Mississippi is where most of my debts are and one has even filed small claims three days after I left alabama. I need to act on this fast. Can I do this myself with the correct forms? Which state should I file in? Texas allows you to keep property in which you need for work. But all the divorce decree said that I would be allowed my personal property only and it didn’t stipulate what was personal property. my ex seems to think its just my clothes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
