I’m looking for the most reputable top knotch debt management company to go with to settle some debts from my younger years..I’ve heard stories though of people getting ripped off and scammed by these "so called companies" So can I ask out there anyone know a good company to go with?

I have accumulated about 60K of debt over the past couple of years due to student and car loans. Can anyone suggest the best debt management company in Brea in California? I have had bad experience with debt companies in the past but I really need a good debt settlement program to help me get through my debts.

I don’t know how best to answer the summons. I have saved almost enough money to probably settle with the credit card company. I will get paid and have the last of the money in hand two weeks after I have to answer the summons in writing. Should I put this information in the answer or just answer it generically and hope they settle when my debt management company contacts them. My debt management company won’t contact them til I have the rest of the money in the settlement account.

I was recently personally served with legal papers, Petition for Confirmation of Arbitration Award with a hearing date of August 8, 2007. This was from MBNA credit card, asking for ,800. I owe them about ,200. I would like to settle with them before judgment gets confirmed with the courthouse to avoid wage garnishments and liens. I am the major breadwinner of the household and would like to know if it is best to settle with them before the court date or to have judgment confirmed and then settle with them at that time. I wish to keep my financial issues private and not be known by my employer (I work in the legal field). A year and half ago, I signed up with a debt management company to assist me in consolidating and settling all of my outstanding debt. When I discussed the matter with them, they said that I should file an Answer, but the document is not a complaint, but a petition. What proper reply or opposition should I file while discussing settlement with MBNA? Thank u
