We were discharged in 2005. Things are looking better for us now. In the Fall we would like to do some renovating on the house and we would like to apply for a home equity line of credit. Is it best to go to a different bank altogether than the one we’re at now? We’ve been with the same bank for about 9 years now but we went bankrupt with them. How and where do we go about finding a bank to apply for this?
OK My mother in law wants to file Chapter 7. She has an Equity Line of Credit that has charged off as a bad debt and a regular mortgage. They want to foreclose on the Equity Line and take the regular mortgage with it. Can she bankrupt the Equity Line and reaffirn the regular mortgage without them taking the house?
