I owe the IRS about 00 from when I got audited one year. I have 00 in savings and 00 in checking and I’m in fear that they will take it one day. I’ve called the IRS and put a hold on my debt because I’m not working right now. I’m currently collecting unemployment and that money in the bank is all I have.
I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. I did go to psychiatrists when I had a job with health insurance and they did not help. I’m at the point now that I would like to kill myself, but I’m a coward. I’m not looking for people to say "oh, don’t do that" — I’m mentioning that to give you an idea of how I have no hope and no desire to live. I isolate myself literally in my home. I’m in horrible debt now. I have no friends, no partner, no children and I’m almost 50.
I CANNOT afford to see a doctor, so please don’t suggest that. And the state will not help a single white person with no children, so please don’t suggest that. Even if I found a free clinic, I probably wouldn’t go because I have this problem about isolating myself in my house, fear of going out. And I’ve looked for free group therapy in my town and I haven’t found any. I even tried to get other depressed people to come to a group therapy via Craigslist. No one responded. If you suggest church, I probably won’t go because I have a problem with *isolating* myself.
Believe it or not, I wasn’t always like this, although I feel I’ve always had problems with depression. I was a flight attendant for 15 years. I’ve gained tons of weight, I will eventually have to file bankruptcy, if I can ever make myself go to the attorney and file and have the money to file. I just want to disappear when my cat dies.
Is there anyone out there that deals with this kind of thing and can suggest ANYTHING to help me just make the first move to helping myself?

Okay I just want to know why people oppose the war in Afghanistan and/or Iraq.
First off, let me say what I believe the war to be. Do I believe there was WMD… no. Do I believe Bush lied about the WMD’s… well kinda yeah. But do I still support the war, yes I do.
That is because you liberals are right, the main priority of this war is about oil. Do you not realize how much of our oil comes from the middle east, and do you not realize how unstable the middle east is? If we were to ever lose that oil from the middle east, this country would go bankrupt in a heartbeat and we would be a third world country. So please forgive me when I don’t care that the war is about oil.
But that is not to say that we also don’t have a noble cause. Yes we are securing our oil source, but at the same time we are freeing those people from taliban rule and Saddam. We are bringing freedom to people who never even heard of the term. Now before you go into "well they like living like that, and who are we to bring our American idea of freedom to other cultures." I agree with you, if people choose to live like that then they should be able to do so. But what about the people who don’t want to live like that? What about the women who don’t want to be force to marry someone they don’t want to? What about the women who want to show off their face without the fear being stoned to death?
In the end, the people are forced to live like that. Yes some may like it, but most don’t. And the ones who don’t can’t leave. For helping these people alone should be enough of a reason to support the war. We can also help bring these third world countries into the modern age, and may even gain an allies or two along the way.
So yes of course America got involved with the middle east to secure our oil interests, but that is not to say that we aren’t helping anyone. If we were to pull out completely then those people who want freedom will lose any chance at it, and we as a country will rely on completely unstable countries to supply most of our oil. I just wish Bush would of just came out and said that, instead of this BS about WMD’s.
Oh and just so you don’t think I am sitting on my high horse talking about the war like this, I have friends and family in the military and I am joining the army hopefully by the end of summer if not sooner.

The people who volunteer for the military are generally fine with what they are fighting for and know the risk involve with it. Why else would they volunteer?

Trade doesn’t work if the other country ends of hating you and breaking any trade deals. And only about 1/4 or our oil comes from Canada and Mexico. While about 2/4 come from middle eastern countries. Other words, about half of our oil comes from the middle east.

So i live in a 9 people family, BUT we live in one of the fancy places. We live in a 6 bedroom home. My mom has JUST gone bankrupt! so my aunt and her 2 kids are moving away to a different house today ); and my mom is planning out where to go…..Idkk, but im really scared…we will be living in one of those (two houses stuck together places) and idkk.i been there with my friends before and the mexicans kept hitting on us…im 12 and they are like 49! ): my mom is divorced so theres no guy in the family…our car will be taken away too.my mom cant drive after the accident that scared her for life. so we would usually tell our maid to drive us….Sorry if i sound spoiled,trust me IM NOT. MY mom doesnt give me everything i want. A judgement was put against me in 2005. They told me they wouldn’t take any more legal action if I signed an agreement to pay .00- 0.00 a month. Out of fear I signed. Today I called to find out my balance and the women told me I owed exactly what I owed in 2005. After asking for a statement to be sent in the mail the women became irate and would not let me speak to her manager. When I called back a man answered and told me he sided with the woman. All I wanted was a statement stating how much I owed and who the original creditor was. I don’t know what to do now and don’t trust these people to act fairly. The name of the company is Resurgence Financial, LLC.
I have really bad credit and it keeps on building up because I recently lost my job. I have a car loan at a credit union, and fear that if I file for bankruptcy that they will take my car away.
I am in debt about 25k and really need to get out or I am in fear of going bankrupt. What are my options, anyone know of a good free service to help consolidation or just advice?
I am at the point where bankruptcy might make sense despite my best efforts.
Can I file for bankruptcy, settle with any creditor at 10% of the debt owed and then unfile (with the remaining debts as is..)
In other words the only thing that force the creditors to negotiate is the fear that they will get close to nothing once the bankruptcy has been filed.
I am afraid to book/pay anything right now for fear they might not be around next month. Also, I don’t want to fly an airbus or an old MD-80
Any suggestions?
A friend of mine who drew K in credit card debt is debating on filing bankruptcy. He is fully able to repay his debts to his creditors, and fear that he may be putting his future at risk. As many people know bankruptcy and going through with it takes a lot of careful thinking. My buddy is hardheaded and thinks the bankruptcy courts will be open to discharge 100% of everything. Not a bad idea if he owed 0K and in over his head…K is workable in my book since he has no real living expenses. Any ideas?
