I am in the process of filing Chapter 7. Our Meeting of Creditors is next week. I have a job offer on the table that will provide me increased income. Can I take a new job before our bankruptcy is discharged?
been thinking about filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and then joining the AirForce. Can I be disqualified for that?
We’re looking into filing chapter 7 (not the prettiest option but honestly the only at this point) and hoping to save some money. While I’ve considered attempting to do it myself (we have a straightforward bankruptcy and qualify by a longshot) I did see there are quite a few online companies which could make it easier and be more affordable than an attorney. Yes, an attorney is still the safest bet but I’m wondering if there are any online companies anyone are aware of that aren’t a total crock (which, unfortunately, is most of what I’m seeing!) Thanks in advance.
I know filing Chapter 7 would knock you out of being considered for a home loan for several years. Is Chapter 13 any different in the consideration of qualifying for a home loan?
I currently have 2 checking accounts. I am considering filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy next month. I know my bank accounts will be frozen during bankruptcy but will they be opened & usable after the bankruptcy is over with?
I am renting a home that is in foreclosure but the owners filed chapter 7 bankrupcy. I thought you could not keep investment properties if you were filing chapter 7. They are screwed when it comes to equity and they have been trying to modify the loan for a couple of months now.
I just need to know if I am going to have to move during the holidays.
I’m filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and the BK attorney tells me that my questionnaire looks good, and I pass the means test so things should go fairly smooth. A collection firm is presently suing me for credit card debt and I expect they will have a judgment soon. I’ve been told that my bankruptcy will "take care" of the judgment. But what exactly does "take care of" mean in this case? Does the bankruptcy simply relieve a need to pay on the judgment? Or does it also erase the existence of the judgment from my credit record? If not then can I take some follow up action to erase it myself?
I am thinking of filing chapter 7. I am only 21 year old and i have about 26k in credit card debt and 60k on auto loan. I need to know what can i do and what i need to do to file Chapter 7.
my landlord is filing chapter 7 and I was told that I had to be out in 30 days. Is this true? Also, can the house be bought for less than is actually owed?
I am filing chapter 7 bankruptcy, but have a case w/ the EEOC against my former employer for discrimination. If I receive back wages or a cash settlement, will I be able to keep that money?
After credit counseling filing chapter 7 has been recommended since I am on disability and working only part time. Problem is attorneys I’ve contacted want 00, 500 upfront before they’ll even submit the paperwork. Obviously I do not have this. Legal aid is not available in my county or city for bankruptcy. Can I just get the paperwork from the clerk of courts and do it myself?
I am considering filing chapter 7 unless I can find a way to pay off old debts and have it removed from my credit report to improve my credit score.
Will filing chapter 7 increase my chances of being approved for a student loan?
Is there anyway to avoid chapter 7 and just pay old debts and have it cleared from my credit report?
My pay was drastically cut, my child support will be ending within 6 mos and I owe back taxes on my house and Federal as well. I am thinking about filing Chapter 7 but not sure if I will end up having to get rid of things like furniture, car, etc…. Can someone help? Thanks!
I have a debt from an apartment i has but it is not listed on my credit report. I am filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and i was wondering if after my bk it could end up showing on my credit report. I am doing the bk myself so i am not sure if i can list it on the bk forms as a debt anyway?Just answers no questions or lectures/advice please. TY Respectfully…
I’m considering filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but whether or not I’m allowed to keep my tax refund will determine which chapter I file. If I receive enough tax refund, and am allowed to keep it, I wouldn’t need to worry about losing my car in the bankruptcy – I could use my tax refund to buy an older model used car. BUT, if I did buy an older car with my refund, would I then be required to list it as an asset (that I could potentially be forced to sell in order to pay things off)?
If I won’t get to keep my tax refund, then I may file Ch. 13 instead…keeping the car I’m currently making payments on. No matter what, I have to do whichever allows me to have a car – I have to have a way to get back & forth to work.
I know many of you are going to say "call an attorney". I’ve tried to contact my attorney, but she’s never in her office & hasn’t returned my calls. If you’ve been through it, can you give me any advice?
they want me to reafirm them on my bankruptcy, but the stuff they want to take I had before they loaned me the money they want to take it and sell it to pay them back. I’m filing chapter 7 can they do this? what i have isn’t worth much. Not as much as I owe them anyway
I have a lot of write offs on my credit report due to losing a job etc. After filing chapter 7 am I gonna be able to rebuild my credit wisely and start over… or am i screwed I need hope.

When filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy as an individual can I use my son towards my household size if I have joint custody with my ex-husband.
I would like a more detailed listing of what my non-exempt assets are under the law when filing chapter 7? Are my pets non-exempt? What about clothing, food, appliances, etc? I am going grazy doing google and yahoo searches. Can anyone please help me find this list? Any serious help is much appreciated. Thanks.
On Thursday I’m due to see a lawyer about filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. The problem is I need to try and get another car this month. Should I file bankruptcy before or after I get another car. My current car which I have a debt consolidation loan on is sitting at a mechanic collecting dust because I can’t afford to get it fixed and the debt folks wont release my title even though its a useless car. I can easily get another car with low monthly payments but will that look bad if I file bankruptcy?
I forgot to mention that me and my fiance have a joint checking account. Is it important to remove her from the account if she’s filing chapter 7?
other factors, she’s unemployed, stays home with our kid. Just happened to have bad luck with this economy. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
When filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy yourself…. I understand some documents can be filed within 2 weeks. However just to get started itnitially …What are the prime documents needed to file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy yourself in MD? Is there a particular order the documents are suppose to go in?
This person smashed up my car from negligent driving and had no car insurance. I received a judgment and had his license suspended all of this happened in Illinois. They are now in Texas and can’t get a legit driver’s license due to the suspension/judgment. They now say they are going to file chapter 7 in Texas to overcome this situation. Would filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy vacate my judgment? Can he really do this?
I live in Indiana, I’m filing chapter 7 bankruptcy, found another home I would love to buy, and that I can actually afford this time! I’ve been told that it is possible to buy a house even one day after disclosure, does anyone know of a mortgage company that will do this?
How much money I can keep in the bank during filing Chapter 7? Some say00 some say 00 in California. I seams can’t find the answer and my Attorney is not telling me the right thing.
Thanks to idenity theift i pulled my credit, i found alot more than i expected but as it turns out they do all pan out. I am thinking about filing chapter 7 bankruptcy but since my wife’s credit is good we dont want it to show on her file, heres the thing. We are young we have nothing in our name our house is owned by her parents our cars are paid off we have no loans or anything of that nature with both of our names on it I would be filing by myself with out her. All my bad credit is old starting when i was 18 and I want to get a fresh start and with all the old medical bills and things bankruptcy seems the best for our family. I’ve read alot on these sites saying your credit is there credit and when you are married there debt becomes yours, this isnt true my wife’s credit score is over 700 while mine is in the 500’s this is why i am asking i dont want it showing up on her file…. does anyone get what im trying to say???
I am filing Chapter 7. My personal account does not show much activity. My business account shows sales of roughly 20,000 monthly however when I pay off the company that finances my inventory ( I do not own my inventory) It shows a profit of around 00 per month. Even though my profit is below the median income, will the large deposits arouse suspision on the part of the court. The large deposits are followed by large payments to that company that owns my inventory.
