what's the lowest amount I could settle with a credit card company– percentage wise???

I was offered 50% of my current balance, but I can’t afford the payments. Is it possible that they would go any lower. Today was the first time I have spoken to them and that is what they offered, I told them I can’t afford the payments (they wanted 00 a month for four months— are they insane? If I could afford that my payments wouldn’t be behind 4 months!!!). Is it possible that they would settle for less with lower monthly payments? I really can’t afford what they offered and I want to pay them (after all, it is my debt), but if that is what it will cost I don’t think I will ever get out of debt! What do you think? I would really appriciate any responses.
Thank you in advance.

DEBT SETTLEMENT OR JUST CONTINUE TO PAY MY BILLS?

Hi All,

I have about 35,000 dollars in credit card debt and i am current on each one. I have a credit score of 780. My interest rates on 15, 000 is 4.9%. The one i am concerned about is the 20,000 at 9.9% with BoA…..I can make the payment with struggling at 316 a month i called and see what they could do for me lower interest or not they said no then asked to settle the debt they said they would settle for 12,000 without looking at the credit report pay that in four months which i believe i can do….Should i do it or just continue to pay all my creditors the minimum payment which i am doing now ?????? If i debt settle with BoA how bad does my credit score from 780 go down???

When i get bonus at work i just give that to my credit card companies i have stop using credit cards and hope to pay them off…..
Thanks everyone …..Just don’t know if i should mess up my credit score I good go from 35000 to 20,000 in a year with the settlement and probably pay everything off in 2 years with the boa settlement if not probably going to take 5 or 6 years……

I have an offer to settle a credit card debt?

I owe over ,000 on a Bank of America credit card. The bank has made me an offer of reducing this debt to 00. They want me to pay almost 0 for the next four months and then the debt will be settled. I don’t have an extra 0 a month to pay this off and explained this to the rept. If I cannot pay the 0 a month the account will go to their legal department and I will have to pay the full amount of the debt in one year.
It seems like a take it or leave it situation. What should I do?

Does my situation allow me to still file for bankruptcy?

Laid off twice last year for several weeks, then this year for four months. Now back to work but haven’t paid credit card bills since September of 2008, with a credit settlement company, but not going good cause haven’t been employed. Even though back to work could I still file for bankruptcy?

Can a person going through chapter 7 bankruptcy get a loan to buy a new or used car?

I am going to be going through chapter 7 bankruptcy next month (November). My car has 70,000 miles and it is five years, and four months old since I purchased it in 2001 (it had 13 miles when I bought it). If I keep my car for two and a half more years before trading it in, can i get a decent loan after filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy this november? My attorney told me that it wouldn’t hurt me that bad because I get a VA compensation and they can’t garnish my wages. Please help. And if I can get a loan, what kind of interest rate would it be?
