because I thought the credit card company may not accept the offer of 40% or 50% of the debt.. and sue in court and win a garnishment.
The debt settlement gentleman on the phone said "don’t worry, less than 1% of people who sign up with us get sued", therefore I feel everyone can rack up huge credit card debt and sign up for it to only owe half or less.
I attempted to make a settlement on a 00+ debt that is currently being garnished. The other party agreed to a 00 settlement. He would not go any lower. We sent emails as confirmations but in his email he stated that any funds intercepted before the settlement due date will be applied to the original balance. If that is so that would leave me with less than a balance we settled for. So would that legally mean the settlement is off if he receives any funds intercepted from the garnishment?
I have a judgment against me for over 0,000 due to a crazy con-artist ex-boyfriend. He only works under the table so of course, they come after me. I’m a single mom and work very hard for a living to support my children. I have now received notification of garnishment. I’m wondering if filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy could include a judgment or not? I have an appointment with an attorney on Monday, but would like to get some sleep this weekend!
All payments were made on time through garnishment from paycheck. Late payments were posted in 2007-2009, but I filed in 2006. Is it even legal for them to post late payments while in Chapter 13.
