house is modified and have been making new payments for 1 year now. I have about ,000 in credit card debt and now one collection agency is wanting to take me to court. Can I file for bankruptcy and save my house? We also only have 1 car which is paid off. We have only one income and are living under poverty level for house hold of 3. Also is there any options for filing bankruptcy without using a lawyer. I cant afford one. Please give advice. God Bless

First I would like to say my first wife was a gold digger!!! I married her back in 1997 & even though I make great money now & made great money in 1997! After my divorce from her in 2005 I continued to make all the payments towards our home,cars,credit cards,4-wheelers,etc….. Since then I got remarried & things are great with this marriage "Thank God!" but last year I finally had to file chapter 7 bankruptcy due to the fact the mortgage my first wife left me with was ,700.00 per month After almost five years of trying so hard to make the payment it all caught up with me last year. Even though I was up to date on my mortgage I finally had to call the bank & tell them I couldn’t make the ,700.00 payment no more & asked the bank if they could just give me a 4.5 interest rate & if they couldn’t I wouldn’t have to file bankruptcy ! After a week went by my bank called me back & said no sir we can’t sorry ! Stunned that my bank had rather me file bankruptcy as to give me a lower interest rate because of a credit score I was floored !!! What the bank was basically telling me was if I couldn’t continue to pay them 8 percent in interest I could go fly a kite !!! So what do I do now ??? What bank would loan me money ? The judge has already granted my bankruptcy!
It’s only been two months since my bankruptcy was granted !!! I want my home back or one like it !!! My home was nice & I can’t live in a shit hole over a credit score system !!! Its all BS if you ask me !!! My income is around 52,000.00 per year & still is ! I need a bank that will work with me on a new home loan & not give me a high interest rate due to a freaking credit score !!! THE CREDIT SCORE SYSTEM IS WHAT GOT ME IN THIS MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE !!! The system is way the hell to picky !!!! If a bank checks your credit it hurts your score lol & if your not even but a few days late on a payment "not months" it hurts your credit score, it just goes on & on… it’s stupid!!!
But anyway I’m a great person & I was good to always pay my mortgage but my banks greed over a credit score system got my bank & myself no where !!! What do I do now ? How can I get a good home without another bank stiffing me? Any help would be appreciated !!!! Thanks

I hate my mortgage lender (Litton) they added an escrow to my monthly payments due to back taxes, but here’s the deal…my city tax never sent me a property tax bill and when I went to inquire my mortgage company had paid it off. How the city inform my mortgage company and not me? Anyway, now my mortgage company does not want to remove the escrow even if I pay the back taxes. This is "Cow Dung" believe me I’d like to say something else. What are my options? I’m frankly sick of this company and I’m sick of the house anyway. I have it for sale, but should I get a lawyer or file bankruptcy on the mortgage. That’s something I really don’t want to do. I already have one bankruptcy in the past, but I’m really sick of Litton and their high handed tactics. I pray to God they go bankrupt and get absorbed by another Company, they are really unreasonable. I have faithfully paid my mortgage, but I should not be screwed into paying more for an escrow I don’t need and I will be darned if I’m going to stay in a house I no longer want due to real estate decline in this bad economy.
I love how people like to add their 2 cents beyond the question being asked. Was I irresponsible in my youth? Yes and apparently half of america is financially irresponsible. I learned my lesson and I pay everything with cash. Unfortunately my taxes were a little behind but not delinquent, but I always pay my property taxes. However, my Mortgage may intervene. Whatever, happened recently I was left out of the loop and the city contacted my mortgage company instead of me, even though I was paying on my taxes. And furthermore I do not like my house or the environment so why should I remain in it? Things change. At one time I would have probably stayed or stayed longer. The house has been on the market for about a year and a half. I want nothing else to do with it and I don’t want to really rent it either. Though I’d choose that over foreclosure or bankruptcy.
Thanks lake lover. Although I don’t think its fair for the tax collector not to forward a tax notice. I have always got one in the past. This year I didn’t get a tax notice and when I went to inquire and pay on my bill, it seems like I got screwed.

I’ve always known republicans to be hypocrites in the fact that they’re allowed to do things when others aren’t, because they’re always in the right even when they’re wrong. But when their own ideology comes back and smacks them in the face, forcing them to lose their homes over health care costs that they can’t afford, and they find their insurance is just one big scam, is it enough to make them smell the corruption, or do they go off and blame Liberals, mistaking their own party’s policies for that of "the enemy?" I live in Canada so I’m not faced with that situation, but my God, I sure hope that when rednecks in red states suffer, which I’m all too happy to see, they at least realize how they go to that point.

Funding LLC located in Syosset, Ny and yet they have another address to
Hauppauge,Ny.I looked up on a site for this place and there was god knows how many complaints were on there,and everything from their offer for a Mistic
credit card fraud,to fingerhaunt,to debts that were already settled years ago,to
god knows what else.It is stated in one complaint,"How can a pass creditor sell
an already settled debt that is 21 years ago"???If anyone out there has heard
of this company..please,please do not accept anything from them,I will be contacting the better buisness place in NY.

I had some medical mishaps about a year ago. One surgery that cost over 7000 and a bunch of other medical bills. I also had a car that I cosigned with my dad for. He ended up losing the car and now they are holding me resonsible for 8000 on it. I normally make around 000 a year. I am actually on unemployment right now. I am in school and in a few years hope to start a good career. I am really scared bc I know that I can not afford to pay these bills. I know that they can later garnish my checks or sue me for the remaining money. Is it possible for me to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy and also would it be the better decision right now?
