After filing chapter 7 will I have a clean slate?

I have a couple negative/derogatory accounts on my credit report from the last 2 years or so…will those disappear after I file chapter 7? In other words what all will be left on my credit report other than the bankruptcy?
Miami G-I did try to dispute them but they were all legit so that didn’t work!

How can I be sure a ‘debt collector’ isn’t a scam?

I have a letter from a company saying they want to settle a debt I have. Is there any way I can make sure it’s legit?
