I reciently agreed to settle a debt for a medical bill that is 5yrs old and recieved a letter from the company on a company letterhead stating apon receival of the payment the debt wil be deleated from the 2 agencies they are filed with. Is it better to have it completely deleated or marked paid as agreed???
If I am filing bankruptcy on credit card debt and medical bill can this affect my mortgage modification? Will my mortgage company pull my modification even though I am not filing bankruptcy on my mortgage? I have had my modification for about 3 years now. I live in CA

Besides the fact that their only argument seems to be "im to greedy to allow any of my money to be taxed to help a less fortunate person afford to LIVE". there doesn’t seem to be any other reason beyond GREED, Selfishness, Hatred of anyone who needs help financially, and GREED.

Id be willing to bet you don’t. Save your breath if your going to rant about how wrong it is you should part with your money to help some one NOT have to go bankrupt to pay a medical bill…or how all the poor MUST be lazy and should just die…i have already heard those "arguments’…anything new?
PS: Obviously i am biased infavor of universal healthcare, but i REALLY am Curious, if Republicans have any reason beyond GREED, and blind faith inunlimited free market FAILED economics, to deny (make perpetually unaffordable)health care to millions of americans??? I have never heard an argument not based on "how dare others expect me to help others"

I am currently 24 years old, with just a part time job, making very little money. I was thinking of moving back to the philippines where tuition for school woud be cheaper, and i can get a degree in nursing.

The creditor filed judgment against me on my credit for medical bill, that was from my ex -wife. I was being nice and stupid, she was still under my insurance coverage even we were separated, I had no idea where was she, all of sudden there was medical bill on my credit. I have recently done my credit check for some thing, and i found out how bad my credit score is. I mean when i was teen and few cards were stolen back in 2005, my credit got bad:/ and i didn’t make payments on time. Plus i have one medical bill from 2003 and Fitness center bill.
*So all together my total collection balance on my credit report is ,030.
Which i should pay, and even with bad economy and having less money and more bill, i can try to add this bill to my paycheck too. But i need some help from ya all. If i can get any toll free # to collection dept. Or how do i contact them. I have no record of previous bills or statements. All i have is Credit report from TransUnion.

I did report the cards, that were stolen. They got stolen at Theme park, i was young and frighten cause that never happen to me or someone i knew. The security at the theme park helped looked but nothing. :/ i did called c-card companies the next working day and canceled the cards. There were few purchases made. I paid for couple, i was student at that time, not enough $$ plus i procrastinate too. But now i want to pay it all off to fix my credit.
Due to domestic violence in my home, I left my marriage. I drew up a proposal to my (soon-to-be) ex regarding our MASSIVE debt which left me with one medical bill of ,000 (not including interest) and two credit cards of over 00. I also left with only what I could fit in my car and left all our furniture and assets to him. I don’t work full-time, though I’m going to try to soon and I just CANNOT pay these debts. I have no problem with the idea of bankruptcy for myself…however, NOTHING is in my name except our Bank of America overdraft protection credit card and he works for a financial industry and told me that if he has a bankruptcy that he’ll loose his securities license and then his job. It’s not my goal to be malicious and cause that – but I can’t pay these bills. Will it be better for me to wait until the divorce is final and then file bankruptcy on whatever debts the judge gives me? Any advice? I don’t know what to do.
I have Kaiser and need to keep my coverage because I may not be approved if I try to reapply somewhere else. But I have a medical bill with them that I plan to include in a chapter 7 bankruptcy. Has anyone gone through this? Will Kaiser drop me if that bill gets discharged? Thanks for the help!
