I had a debt (that I was in dispute of) placed for collection in Aug 1998, which was over eight years ago. It was removed from my credit report in 2005, but I just received a phone call from a collections agency, Diversified Collections Services (DCS) asking to call back and settle. Is federal law seven years, ten years, or longer? Thanks.
I have made a huge mistake and made a verbal agreement over phone to put money in my bank account for the collector to pull out the payment for today, and didn’t have a dime in the account. I tried renegotiating with them, but they are very misunderstanding and disrespectful. I don’t have the money to pay off a settled debt of 48.00. The original debt was 08.00. They did send me a notice and the phone call was recorded. I do want to pay off this debt but i just dont trust giving my information to rude, disrespectful people. I know they just want their money, but how can I make this work? Can I just ignore their calls until I do come up with the money? And what can happen to me? I can’t go to jail can I?
now that ill have bad credit at 19 years old, what can I do to get it back up? and what can i do about my bank account? i’m afraid of putting any money in there now that they have my information. can i just close it?
I didn’t realize that my 2nd mortgage was not included in the Chpt 13 Bankruptcy filed 3 yrs ago. It was a stupid mistake on my part and I am going through a horrible situation because of it now. I haven’t heard from the mortage company since before the bankruptcy, 3 yrs ago, and had no reason not to think the loan ws not included, until out of the blue, I receive a phone call last week, demanding the balance in full. Imagine my surprise! I made a terrible mistake! I would have never let this happend had I realized. Anyway…regardless of that, I am left with a loan, with a major delinquency. It is in default and considered a delinquent mortgage. The loan is 35,000 , originally 27,500. and growing by the minute! I don’t know what to do! I don’t have the money anywhere, we are trying to rebuild credit, there are no alternatives for me that I can see. Can someone help me? Im so confused and absolutely scared to death. My 1st mortgage is in perfect standing. I welcome all comments!
I am trying to do my own bankruptcy but I keep running into sites that get my information then I get this phone call from lawyers. I want to file myself and all I need is a website that shows me how and what to file. Do anybody know where I can go online to get instructions on how to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy?
I have a credit card debt is not so much I actually thought I can pay it all off. I received a phone call from the bank and they offered a settlement much less then what I owe. Can this really back fire on me or affect my credit in a really bad way?
I am with credit solution for 3month now. these days, im getting phone call from collection agency, saying that my creditor dosen’t work with credit solution, and credit solution just want money and they are just telling me what I wanna hear. I called Credit Solution and the agent told me collection agent is just trying to scare me so i should not speak with them,, who should I trust? Did anyone settle debt by using Credit solution?
