I'm being sued for $80,000, should I file bankruptcy?

You don’t understand, we’re living paycheck to paycheck as it is. We do not own a home. We have no assets to seize.
(if you’d like more details on my situation, read my last ?)
If the insurance co. wins this lawsuit against us, we are so screwed. If they garnish my partner’s wages, we’ll be homeless. We have two children to support as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Oh yeah. If we did file BK, do we do it now, or wait until the suit is over?
fine, ill just pay on ,000 the rest of my life, get on welfare, and live in a shack!

i hate the way this country is run…

Is it that bad to foreclose on a home considering my circumstances?

I am 62 years old and have recently had to file bankruptcy. As my time on this earth is limited, I would like to foreclose on my home and get into an apartment that I can better afford. More money is going out than coming in and I’m not living happy.

At my age, credit is not an issue for me. I’ve got a newer car that is paid off. My house was on the market for 1 year and wasn’t able to sell it. I have no equity in it. I have family members that can help me get into an apartment.

I just want to get the house from underneath me and move into an apartment where my payments would be a savings of ,000 a month. I want to live the rest of my life happy and be able to buy things for myself from time to time.

Is it bad for me to want to foreclose??

Debt Management VS. Debt Settlement, which one is best to use and has anyone used one of them?

I have ,764.00 in credit card debt with interest rates in the 20%-30% range. I am looking into either a debt management program or a debt settlement program. For the debt management program they estimate that I will pay ,410 total including their fees and be debt free in 3 years 9 months (April 2013). For the debt settle program they estimate that I will pay ,058 total including their fees and be debt free in 2-3 years (July 2011-July 2012) depending on how much I decide I can afford per month. I see that the settlement program is a lot cheaper in the long run (,352), does not take as long to complete (24-36 months instead of 45) and is at least 0 cheaper a month if I choose the 2 year program and 0 cheaper if I choose the 3 year program. My current credit score is about 645 and I don’t want to destroy it, but I can not keep paying the minimum payments for the rest of my life and never be debt free. Has anyone used either of these programs? What was the difference in your credit score when you finished the program? Did you have any problems? The name of the company is Coastal Credit Solutions out of San Diego, CA. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Does actually national debt affect a common man's life?

I am US permanent resident & I am planning to settle in US for rest of my life. I am a doctor. I am much impressed by the superiority of US in the world in almost all sector & its my ambition that US remain so forever. Currently US national debt is 83.4% of its GDP & its presumed to raise further….My question is whether this growing debt affect the prosperity & routine life of a common man? As Japan’s national debt is 192% of its economy & still its flourishingg. Than whats the importance of debt?

Will filing bankruptcy ruin my credit for life or just 10 years?

Ok so here is the situation I want to leave my husband and the only reason I am still here is due to finances. If I leave and I file bankruptcy will that basically be with me for the rest of my life? I am 32 so if it is on my credit for 10 years that would put me at around age 42 before I can establish myself again. Any suggestions would be more than greatly appreciated!
