I am 26 years old, I am in ,000 dollars worth of debt, my car got repossessed and I can’t afford to pay any of my bills. They just keep adding up. I am unemployed and have been looking for work with no luck. Should I file for bankruptcy?
No repos, but unpaid credit card debt. I guess in 5 to 6 years the seven years should be up and they will be removed from my credit report- however in the mean time, should i file for bankruptcy or should i just wait it out? I’m wondering what is the best way to start building my credit back up. Thank you, I know people get very touchy about debt questions! lol I appreciate helpful answers, not hateful ones.

I like to spend. Some might call me a super spendaholic. Charge it! I always say. I like to go out to fancy dinners, get really really good wine and just put it all on the credit card and so I don’t have to worry about it until I want to worry about it. Well now my bill is like ,000 and I’m getting charged absolutely insane amounts of money every month in interest as my rate is 22%. I only work a part time job and I don’t want to quit it for a full time one because it’s a pretty cool job with no stress or responsibility. Should I file for bankruptcy? I am 26 yrs old and had bought a home about 3 yrs ago, due to a lay off and roomates moving out I tried to do a modification but this was in 2008 and hte bank didnt do modifications then, which caused for me to foreclose on that home. Ok, I will take the blame for my credit problems. But over the past year I’ve been hospitalized several times and the combination of both credit card bills and hospital bills have accumulated quite a bit of debt. I work a job which is straight commission and because of the bad economy on top of the fact that I recently took a leave of absence from work and am collecting temporary disability I currently have about 50 dollars to my name.
