I’m a single mother with a two year old. I’ve been fending for myself and my little one without assistance of any kind for a long time. Now I have some many debt I am flat broke. I’d like to claim bankruptcy while I’m also claiming for gov’t assistance. Any suggestion? Website links are most useful to me.I’m in Texas BTW for their laws.
Really wanna file myself it’d save about 0, already went thru the debt counseling and they said I was a lost cause to pay it back due to being a single mom with 3 kids. so obviously if i cant afford my bills i cant afford to hire an attorney in time to save myself from further garnishments. But is filing it myself a good thing?? Most of the debt is from my divorce and since we didnt file while we was married they will fall back on him and not by choice. But maybe they can get their money from him since he does make over twice what I do. I hate to pin it on him but I need to cleanup my act and look ahead for the sake of my kids…anyone with a suggestion please. Need to file Tues!!!!
I have about 23,000 in unsecured credit card debt. I recently lost my job and had to take one making a lot less per month. I went a debt consolidation program that got my payment down to about 700.00 per month. The problem is i am only bringing home net about 1200.00. I then have a mortage utilities and insurance etc so i am running in the hole. Is debt settlememt a good alternative. I do not want bankruptcy . I know settlement will hurt my credit score but at this point I need a way out. I have heard that settlement companies make you hold off on payments and the credit card companies will keep hounding you? Is this true? Does anybody have a suggestion to my dilema
I have a hard time to get rid of both cars because of the value is lower than what I owe. Should I just give them back to the dealerships and walk away, or what else suggestion do you have?
Most attorneys want 00 or more for a bankruptcy. If I had that much money around I probably wouldn’t need to file bankruptcy. Is hiring an attorney absolutely necessary? Or, can I use a paralegal or document preparer to do the forms? What suggestion might you have?
I have acondo in Toronto, Canada and its management cost sky rocked to 00/month where as i am pay 450/month for the mortgage.
The property value droped to 000 compare to its normal value 110,000, its a real burden to me, can you explain what i have alternative to do other than bankruptcy. I tried it to sell for the last 2 yeras, oneone wanna buy such property with high manamgement cost. you suggestion will be appreciated, its a 2 bedroom condominium abt. 35 yr. old. thank you
