what chapter of bankruptcy should I file.?
I don’t really want to do this, but I am going to end up losing my entire paycheck if I don’t. What do I get to keep if I file bankruptcy? I heard a house and I car. My parents put their house in my name will it get taken? I need a place to live and a car. I don’t want it to be taken. I am in nebr will they allow to keep a car and a house that has been paid for?

Go talk to a couple and ask, since the laws on what you can keep vary from state to state. Mine told me that Chapter 13 was basically worthless, and 7 was the way to go, but it depends on your situation. I live in CA, and will get to keep my car. My co-worker who filed bankruptcy was able to keep 2 cars (one for him and one for spouse), and his house. The only things he had to give up were a motor home and some jet skis that were financed.
March 2nd, 2010 at 9:26 amfirst off if your house and car are paid for why would you choose to go bankrupt?? how many bills can you possibly have? there are people who are making car payments mortgage paymentx plus other utilities! i’m sorry but you shouldnt be able to keep anything. i doubt that your whole paycheck is going to be gone in just credit card payments…try getting qa second job. but bankruptcy should be your last option. thats why this economy is so screwed up!! people dont know how to manage there money at all, pile up a bunch of debt, and then they declare bankruptcy! but fortunately now the law says that even if you go bankrupt you still have to pay everything back its not liek before
