why are car insurance companies trying to make me go bankrupt?
Okay, this is extremely frustrating. I’m a 19 year old student, who works part time. I have all-state insurance full coverage, and I drive a 2001 toyota tacoma, which is paid off. And guess how much Allstate charges me every 6 months? 0!!!!!!!!!!!! That is absolutely ridiculous. These son of a bitches are totally ridiculous charging me that. I’ve never had a ticket, never been in an accident. And I don’t care if i’m 19 that price is absolutely absurd for that car. I’m almost at the point where I just wanna go illegal and drive without insurance. I’m looking sleep every night over this I mean seriously do they think a 19 year old college student is made of money. And the funny thing is it’s under my parents policy and its this much!!!
I know you don’t want to hear it, but it IS because of your age. My 6 month policy is $470.60 and I’m much much older than you. That’s just the cost of insurance in today’s world. I wouldn’t expect you’re going to get much of a break until you’re 25. I don’t think there’s a soul out there that doesn’t think that they’re paying too much for insurance.
August 24th, 2010 at 11:48 pmYour insurance quote is really not that high for an urban area. Almost all of it is surely for liability coverage, which is the part required by law. You could shop around for a policy under your own name if you have a perfect record with no accidents and no tickets. Allstate is known for high rates, but they’ll cover almost anyone. If you have a clean record, try AMICA, if they’re available in your state. The coverage is great, the rates are very low and they give great service if you ever have a claim. Driving without insurance would be a mistake as getting caught will get you a hefty fine and possibly suspension of your license. Driving then with a suspended license and no insurance might get you jail time or at the least a legal bill much greater than the insurance cost. Welcome to the real, cruel world, where the everyday things that you need just to live….end up eating up all your cash./

August 24th, 2010 at 11:48 pmThis is the part when you find out just how hard it is to be an adult. You may be able to do a little better if you shop around, but you’re a young male and you’re already getting a discount because you’re on your parents policy. You can also save money by taking a driver safety course. Make sure to be a very safe driver and your rate will go down in a couple of years.
