with gm and chrysler likely to file bankruptcy next week should i sell other stocks?

In the past several weeks my stocks have all done very well. Now do do you think everything is going to crash if chrysler begins bankruptcy and liquidation next week. The stocks are not in automakers but will this have a bad effect on all stocks?

Car company problems are already "in" the stock prices and really have nothing to do with the rest of the market. However, this bear rally has about reached it’s limit (I guessed 8150 to 8250 on the Dow) and is due for a pull-back – how far no one knows, but I would think at least 10%. That would put the DJI about 800 points lower, or around 7200.

    No.

There’s a big difference between the banking/finance system and the auto companies and that’s that the finance sector affects all sectors.

The companies would be more likely broken up and the profitable parts run as smaller companies or sold to competitors to run. Reconstructing the auto industry would be a better and more likely outcome.

No. I believe the pending bankruptcies have already been factored into the stock market.
